KYAMBOGO TO ADOPT ONLINE TEACHING

Kyambogo University is set to join the list of universities that have resorted to online teaching after Spending close to 3 months without any academic progress at the institution. In a letter dated 16th June, Prof. Elly Katunguka Rwakishaya, the Vice Chancellor of the institution tasked all faculty heads, staff and the administration to develop strategies for re-opening of the university with mechanisms for adopting e-learning for teaching and learning purposes.


The vice chancellor further pointed out the main cause of this being the eruption of the pandemic that auxiliary called for both students and staff to change their culture of teaching and learning delivery of services. “The university senate has agreed on plans to upscale teaching with blended learning in the long term and adapt to emergency remote teaching in the short term using Google classroom and Google meeting platforms.” Katunguka added. The online classes are expected to kick start on 22nd June after all students and staff members learning how to use the platforms in a university wide intensive training that will be provided by the faculty of education in partnership with all the faculty deans and heads of departments
