Kikuube District Chairperson LC5 donates Relief Items to the Kyangwali Evicted Families.



The Kikuube District Chairperson LC5 Hon Peter Banura on first march donated Relief Items to the Kyangwali Evicted Families who are now living in the RDCs Office Premises.


There over 6000 families which were Evicted from Kyangwali Settlement in Kikuube District in 2013 to a 7Sqkm peice of Land in Kyeya Village and others left with out being resettled anywhere.


The Evictees were from Bukinda in Kasonga parish, Ngoma, ngurwe, katikara villages, A budget of 6.5b was Earmarked to cater for social Services in Kyeya Village which the locals refused Claiming the land belongs to a certain Individual who even had a land title.


However the Kikuube District Boss come in with some Relief Items like 25bags of Maize Flour, 10boxes of water, abox of Soap, A Cartoon of Salt and asaucepan to help the Evictees in their stay at the RDCs Office.



The Chairperson who was in tow with the Town Clerk Kikuube Town Council, The Kyangwali Woman Councillor, The secretary for Finance Planning and Administration, Secretary for Works Engineering and Water, Secretary for Production and Natural Resource, The District Youth Councillor and the Communication Officer.


The Chairperson urged the Evictees to keep Calm and peaceful since their Issue is being handled by the president and the Prime Minister, and that very soon they will get feedback.



Amlan Tumusiime the District RDC Emplowered the Evictees to keep Discipline and also to be careful and protective of their Lives especially the Girl Child in their stay at his place to avoid contracting HIV/AIDs and Teenage pregnancies.


The Presidents representative also promised the Evictees an Immediate Solution since their Issue is on the President of the Republic of Uganda's table.


It should be noted that the government of Uganda through office of the prime minister has dispatched a team to deliver relief aid to the families camped at RDCs office.


This was resolved during an emergency meeting chaired by the prime minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja to discuss ways of resolving the issues surrounding the Bukinda evictees.


Nabbanja said that in the short run she has dispatched a team of ministers led by Engineer Hilarry Onek, the minister for disaster preparedness and response to establish the facts on ground.


Nabbanja says that government will do all it takes to ensure that the people do not suffer in their own country.


Engineer Hilary Onek says that the Bukinda issue dates back to 2012 but it is being handled and a permanent solution shall be realesed.


The state minister for Bunyoro affairs in the office of the Prime Minister Jenefer Namuyangu Kacha says that the people should not loose hope because their issues are being handled.
