The U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is adopting new rules that could cost even Green Card Holders a deportation. According to NBC2 News reporting, the target of these new rules are mainly centered on Tax returns. The report clearly says that if you forget or mistakenly fail to admit you are an immigrant or don't report all your income, or take a longer vacation outside the U.S , as grounds for which the new rules may rely on. The NBC2 article states, "If you or someone you know is a green card holder you may want to pay close attention to this article as there are some new laws going into effect that could get permanent residents deported." Here is the summary of the 2020 new rules:
-Failing to admit you’re an immigrant on your tax returns or failing to report some of your income could get you deported, -Men between the ages of 18 and 25 who hold a green card must register with the U.S. Selective Service; failure to do so could lead to deportation -An extended overseas vacation could cost someone their green card - it could be considered "abandonment" of the green card.
